Goodbye world... Netscape Browser is Dead

After so many years of toe-to-toe battle against the giant Internet Explorer, Netscape browser has finally given up his fight. He was heavily wounded. Today, Netscape who was once the king of the web browsers in the early 90s is gone.

My first encounter with this browser was sometime in 1994. It was so popular back then that even Internet Explorer was hardly noticeable. But not until the release of Windows 95 pre-bundled with Internet Explorer, when Netscape's world began to fall apart. With Microsoft's vast resources in terms of manpower and money, Netscape struggled until eventually shipped its Netscape Navigator free for the public in January 1998. Since then, I too switched to Internet Explorer in favor from the buggy Netscape browser.

Several means were attempted to regain the popularity of Netscape browser, such as, the development of the open source Mozilla. However, the Internet Explorer has already established itself as the most dominant web browser in the world while keeping Netscape browser down on his knees.

With the absence of Netscape browser, I am just hopeful that another brave web browser could stand-up against the Internet Explorer for new round of actions in the world wide web. Just like what Netscape did, who at least did'nt die in vain.
